Singapore's great infrastructure

What places in Singapore contribute most to its great infrastructure?

The UN sustainable development goal I chose was infrastructure, particularly Singapore's infrastructure and what contributes to it. When I visited Singapore for the first time I was amazed at the impressive buildings and cleanliness of the country. Obviously there was stuff behind the scenes that made this all possible. Having good infrastructure moves us closer to this SDGs final goal, and Singapore is one of the best executed examples of this SDG. The government taxes things that may damage the country or environment and outright bans things that are more inconveniencing. For example, chewing gum is illegal, any importation or trade is banned. On the more extreme end, smuggling drugs into the country can result in a death sentence. Singapore is a very developed country with many aspects that other countries can try to work towards.

Singapore

The main city of Singapore, is the location of important government buildings, housing and tourist locations.

SMRT

SMRT or Singapore Mass Transit System is a modern, popular and efficient mean of transport within Singapore.

Changi Airport

Singapore’s most popular airport. Changi airport is also the best rated airport in the world. Over one hundred thousand flights came in last year.

Conclusion

Overall, Singapore has great infrastructure that every country can try to model itself towards. In the brief period I visited Singapore to see old friends, I got a glimpse of how impressive everything was. The entire city felt clean and fresh. Their tourist attractions were amazing and the public spaces were great. It’s a really impressive country that blew me away. It looked like something from the future, and I hope that everywhere looks like Singapore, sometime in the future.
