This coal mine is one of the locations visited by Ashley&apos;s Mines Commission, which was put in place to inform Parliament on the conditions of the mines. This location saw young women, some as young as eight, put to work in the mines. Young girls were often in this line of work because of their size, which allowed for the tunnels to be made smaller and quicker.       In some cases, the young women interviewed in Ashley&apos;s Mines Commission alluded to being sexually assaulted. One example of this is seen in a seventeen-year-old who was the only woman among 35 men and boys. None of them wore any clothing, and as the young woman put it, &quot;the boys take liberties with me.&quot; The commission was put in place to try to document this exact type of story to try to get stricter laws passed to curb instances like this (Ashley&apos;s Mines Commission).

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
