The 100th Meridian was long considered to be, from the European settlers point of view, where the humid and wetter east ended and the semiarid west began, although the "division" is really a fairly wide zone and not a line. This is the homeland of the Great Plains Native American tribes, from the Hidatsa and Mandan in the north, to the Arikara and Sioux, Ponca, Pawnee, Arapaho, Kansa, Kiowa Cherokee, Comanche, Wichita, Apache, and others to the south. Far from a monotonous landscape, traversing the 100th meridian from north to south in the continental USA allows us to explore a diversity of landforms, vegetation, and human settlement. Even from this satellite image, you can see that the population density is quite low--just a few ranches and farmhouses, and some small towns (not pictured).

This story includes several of the pieces you might use in your own story–like paragraphs, buttons, separators, and more. To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. Try changing the paragraph font, and see what happens to this text.

Quotes use the theme’s title font, but you can also choose one of several different styling options.

Your theme’s accent color is used in both quotes (see above) and separators (below). If you add an express map to your story, your drawn features will use the accent color too.
