HIGHLIGHTS ｜ 30th October 2024Completed Projects in Oct. 2024 Worldwide• Serbia: On October 4th, 2024, an opening ceremony was held for the scenic ring road surrounding the city of Gornji Milanovac. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić delivered a speech at the ceremony, stating that the city ring road was build with the highest quality, for that he thanks the Chinese engineers. The scenic ring road &quot;would greatly shorten commuting times for residents and ensure smooth passage for all trucks.&quot; He pointed out, &quot;This will significantly improve the lives of approximately 25,000 residents, enhance industrial production capacity, and contribute to local economic development.&quot; • Mozambique: On October 3rd, 2024, A traffic opening ceremony was held for the temporary bridge project over Revúboé River, in Tete City. Mozambique President Nyusi, along with local dignitaries, government officials, and thousands of local residents, as well as Chinese and Mozambican employees involved in the project, gathered to celebrate the successful opening of the bridge. Tete City is an important industrial and mining city in northwestern Mozambique. The completion and opening of the Rewob temporary bridge will effectively alleviate traffic pressure in the region and make significant contributions to regional economic development and the improvement of people&apos;s livelihoods. • Bosnia &amp; Herzegovina: On October 1st, 2024, the Ivovik Wind Power Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, jointly invested and constructed by China Power Construction Group and China General Technology Group, was connected to the grid for power generation. Located in Livno, which borders Croatia, this project is the first renewable energy initiative by Chinese enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is designed to generate 84 megawatts of electricity and features 20 wind turbines manufactured in China, making it the largest in both individual turbine capacity and total installed capacity in the country. • Uganda: The Karuma Hydropower Station is located about 270 kilometers north of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. With a total installed capacity of 600 megawatts, it is the largest hydropower station in Uganda. The project is being constructed by Sinohydro Corporation. The completion and handover ceremony took place on September 26, with Ugandan President Museveni attending the event and inaugurating the hydropower station. The Karuma Hydropower Station will not only provide affordable electricity to thousands of households in Uganda but also power the country&apos;s most vibrant industrial areas. It will promote the nation&apos;s transition to a green economy and help make Uganda, often referred to as the &quot;Pearl of Africa,&quot; a regional hub for electricity supply, contributing sustainable clean energy to Uganda and the broader East African region. • Peru: The Peru branch of Sinohydro Corporation handed over the Saint Miguel Hospital project in Peru. Located in the Ayacucho region, the hospital covers a total building area of 10,137.58 square meters. The facility consists of five floors and includes 65 beds, four general operating rooms, a rehabilitation center, an outpatient area, an emergency care area, and an intensive care unit, all equipped with various medical devices. • Saudi Arabia: Covering an area of 52.54 square kilometers, the project employs the most advanced N-type bifacial photovoltaic panels and flat single-axis automatic tracking systems currently available globally. The project is located in Jeddah, Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia, with a total installed capacity of 2.6 gigawatts, comprised of ASB 1600 megawatts and ASB 22000 megawatts. Once completed, it is expected to generate approximately 28.22 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity over 35 years, resulting in a carbon dioxide reduction of nearly 245 million tons. This is equivalent to planting 545 million trees in the Saudi desert and will serve as a significant milestone for Chinese and Saudi enterprises in advancing Saudi Arabia&apos;s Vision 2030. • Laos: On October 12, the inauguration ceremony for the Mahosot Comprehensive Hospital building, funded by the Chinese government, was held in Vientiane, Laos. The Mahosot Comprehensive Hospital has become the largest, most fully equipped, and best-facilitated modern comprehensive hospital and medical teaching base in Laos. • Uganda: The Buikwe Water Supply Project is the first water supply and sanitation system construction project implemented by China Railway 10th Bureau&apos;s Africa branch in Uganda. The handover ceremony marks the official commissioning of the public water system. This has significantly advanced the construction of the drinking water pipeline network in Uganda, bringing an end to the hardships of water scarcity for Buikwe Town and five surrounding villages, and further enhancing the well being of local residents. • Nigeria: On October 19, the completion ceremony for the Fagoro Road project in Ekiti State, Nigeria, undertaken by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, took place. The project primarily includes the overlay and reconstruction of asphalt pavement, the construction of culverts, and drainage ditches upgrades. • Côte d&apos;Ivory: The Abidjan Fourth Bridge project in Côte d&apos;Ivoire, undertaken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, has received a temporary acceptance report officially issued by the National Roads Authority of Côte d&apos;Ivoire. The project spans approximately 7 km and includes the main bridge crossing the Banco Lagoon, interchanges (including ramp bridges), three overpass bridges at roundabouts, a toll station, a vehicle underpass, as well as related roads and auxiliary facilities. • Serbia: The KOSTOLAC-B Power Plant Phase II project in Serbia, in which China Power Construction Group is involved, has successfully completed the 168+96-hour reliability test for Unit B3, marking the official commissioning of the project. Located in Požarevac, Serbia, the project features a 1,032-ton-per-hour tower-type direct current furnace, a 350-megawatt supercritical condensing steam turbine, a 412-megawatt water-hydrogen generator, and a 420-megawatt forced oil circulation main transformer. • Madagascar: The Tulear Water Supply Project in Madagascar, which includes a 57-kilometer water pipeline, the installation of 480 sets of household water supply equipment, and the construction of 200 centralized water supply facilities, was handed over to the local community on October 24, marking the official launch of the water supply system into full operation. • Niue: On October 23, the completion and handover ceremony for the Niue Ring Road Upgrade Project, funded by China, was held in Alofi, the capital of Niue. The project, which began in April 2023, spans 46.1 kilometers and has enhanced the transportation infrastructure of Niue.

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
