IntroductionChina&apos;s education system saw its greatest change in the twentieth century, which experienced the transition from Confucian tradition to a modern, globalized system. The effects reflected the country&apos;s political turbulence, economic troubles, and modernization aspirations. The twentieth century became a time marked by intense political crises. Each government had its particular mindset concerning the education system(Bailey). The educative process has indeed served as a very important tool to ensure society&apos;s continuation and further stability. This paper explores critical turning points, including the abolition of the imperial system of examinations, the establishment of the Republic of China, Mao Zedong&apos;s (Maoist) reforms, and the modernization policies after Mao. The thesis statement argues that China&apos;s educational evolution was a deliberate effort to reunite traditional Confucian values with modern demands, cultivating Chinese citizens capable of driving socio-economic progress while navigating political challenges. This exercise integrates both primary and secondary sources regarding the major events that took place in the 20th century on the Chinese education system, and is used to analyze how and why the political, economic, social, and cultural changes took place, particularly from the years of Cultural Revolution and the economic reform period in the 1990s.

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
