Explain the Mandelbrot Set:History and Creation:Benoit Mandlebrot was the person in 1979 who found this set after the discovery of the Julia set. To understand the Julia set, we use the formula:  zn+1= (zn)2 where zn+1 is the number after squaring z this happens again and again as it gets substituted as z to find the new zn+1. We see how it approaches 0 each time while being inside a circle from -1,1 and -1i,1i. This is because each time we square a decimal it gets smaller and smaller, closer to 0. This in turn makes it ‘stable’ as it does not go outside of the boundaries (circle). However, if the point A it gets outs of the circle it approaches infinity as we start with a number bigger than 1 so each time it squares itself, it get bigger.

This story includes several of the pieces you might use in your own story–like paragraphs, buttons, separators, and more. To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. Try changing the paragraph font, and see what happens to this text.

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
