If you are one of the <a href='https://irma.nps.gov/STATS/SSRSReports/Park%20Specific%20Reports/Annual%20Park%20Recreation%20Visitation%20(1904%20-%20Last%20Calendar%20Year)?Park=GRCA' target='_blank' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>231 million people</a> who have visited Grand Canyon National Park since its creation in 1919, you have probably stood somewhere on South Rim and gazed across the 10 miles or so of open canyon toward the North Rim.  I am always struck by how dry the Canyon usually looks.  With the exception of the Colorado River flowing at the bottom of the canyon, the view is usually one of rock and soil, shadow and light and constantly-varying color with relatively little vegetation and few glimpses of surface water.  That sense of dryness is misleading.  Under the surface of Grand Canyon is a complex system of groundwater that is constantly moving from the surface through the rocks to issue in numerous springs, seeps and creeks that occur across the Grand Canyon landscape.  Along with the river itself, these springs support the broad diversity of plants and wildlife that live in Grand Canyon.

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
