Turf City is the latest in a long line of unique Singaporean features to be demolished and developed. I've been visiting Turf City for over a decade - so this was an especially depressing piece of news to read. Ideally, this article would contribute towards the conservation of Turf City. Unfortunately, development in Turf City is well underway, so this article will instead highlight some of the services we will be losing. First, some context of the development. News of Turf City's development is not exactly "news", as the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has been "safeguarding" the area since 1998 for future residential use. Technically, the URA has been leasing out the area to tenants for over 20 years. Originally intended to end in December 2023, you could even argue that the tenants of Turf City, and all those who enjoy visiting, have been "lucky" to survive this long! I strongly disagree with this viewpoint, and I see it as the loss of not only a unique area in Singapore, but also a substantial area of forests. These two areas are shown in the map below.

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
