The Mexican Revolution, sparked in 1910 by Francisco I. Madero&apos;s call for the overthrow of President Porfirio Díaz, triggered profound changes in Mexico&apos;s political, social, and economic structures [Plan of San Luis Potosí]. As Madero declared in the Plan of San Luis Potosí, &quot;Therefore, and in echo of the national will, I declare the late election illegal and, the Republic being accordingly without rulers, provisionally assume the Presidency of the Republic until the people designate their rulers pursuant to the law. In order to attain this end, it is necessary to eject from power the audacious usurpers [...] to compel General Díaz by force of arms to respect the national will.&quot; This document laid the foundation for a revolution that would reshape governance, redistribute land, and redefine the relationship between the state and its citizens. Although the conflict was turbulent and at times contradictory, it initiated a dynamic process that influenced Mexico well into the twentieth century [Gonzales, The Mexican Revolution]. Through examining the sequence of events and leaders that emerged, from Madero&apos;s initial stand to the consolidation of the Institutional Revolutionary Party and reforms in the twentieth century, this project will highlight how the revolution&apos;s legacy molded Mexico&apos;s identity and path of development.

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
