As the COVID-19 Pandemic started in 2020, many were sent home to work from home, many were sent home from school and other education sources, and many were released/fired from their jobs at their companies. This happened due to various reasons from not being able to pay them to there not being enough work for all the workers to do. During COVID-19, unemployment reached a staggering 14.7% (U.S. Bureau of Labor & Satistics, 2024). Although diseases may have serious affects on a countries economy, so does outsourcing jobs to other countries with cheaper labor. The most impactful solution to the United States unemployment and economic state is to change federal and state economic laws to reflect current needs. Outsourcing of jobs is when a company or an employer gives a job at there company to a person in another country besides the country that they are stationed in. For example, if a company such as Apple had a job and offered it to a person who lived in China, that job title that was given was outsourced. Furthermore, you have sourced that job out of your country and to another. A company typically does this because wages and living costs are typically lower in other countries therefore companies might pay the person they outsourced the job to, a significantly lower wage than if they hired somebody in their home country. As technology has evolved, outsourcing has become more popular; outsourced jobs has increased in most countries between the years of 2007 and 2018 (Poutvaara & Jordahl, 2023). The biggest shift has been seen from the Netherlands, Finland, and Germany at about 3% of GDP increase in outsourced jobs (Poutvaara & Jordahl, 2023).

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
