Develop a map showcasing your favorite local businesses and landmarks, such as cafes, bookstores, or historical sites. Reflect on how these places contribute to the character and identity of Quito/Cumbayá.For my first map, I chose to showcase my favorite restaurants here in Quito and why I think they are a good place to visit. I chose 10 different places, and although they are very different in the type of food they serve, they all contribute to the importance of what Quito/Cumbaya is.This restaurant contributes to the character of the region we live in because it shows cultural diversity among the population that lives here. Having restaurants that serve different types of food that express their own culture, traditions, and cultural hearths is a positive thing to have. It gives a sense of identity to all of the people who want to try new things or even connect to their own home. In addition, it’s important to have this much variety because it can even bring back our own Ecuadorian culture. Because in Quito there are many types of food, that means that there is a lot of Ecuadorian food as well. This is a key factor to have in a city because people are migrating all the time, and it is fundamental that they know what type of food people eat in this place. Finally, having a diversity of restaurants helps people don’t forget their true origins or and were they came from. Also, it helps support Ecuadorian restaurants with our own typical food from the country.

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
