Choose an aspect of your culture and show its origin and diffusion. This could be a combination of elements or things we have studied.For my third map, I chose Unit 3 prompt #1. The one cultural aspect that I chose based on my culture is Christmas. I decided to do research on it because it is a tradition followed by a large percentage of the population around the world. If you focus on my map, you can tell that it has passed through a variety of different countries, like Rome, Germany, the Netherlands, America, and a lot more. Its diffusion started in ancient Rome and later continued to spread around Europe. Each country is adding to or adapting this holiday to make it what we know in the present day. It took a long time, but it finally arrived thanks to colonization in Latin America. Meaning that in the 19th century, Ecuador was officially celebrating Christmas as it did back then. It is important to learn about aspects of our cultures to see where they came from and how they have changed over time. Finally, cultures and traditions can diffuse all the time, as we can see at Christmas. But it is always important to know the true origin of the things we believe in.

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
