IntroductionFor my impact paper, I would love to look at the cultural impact of Barbie on society especially with young girls everywhere. Barbie officially debuted on March 9, 1959, at the American International Toy Fair in New York City as a creation of Mattel, Inc. 's Ruth Handler. Handler got her inspiration from the German Lilli doll in 1956, and the development of the Barbie doll began soon after. Barbie has proven to have an amazing cultural impact on girls and societal norms put on them. In 1959, when the doll came out, it revolutionized the toy business by offering girls aspirational role models beyond just training them to be wives and mothers. Girls who played with Barbie wanted to be Barbie, not to take care of her. Barbie has proven to be an inspiration and a catalyst not only for girls but for me as well. Barbie and the recent film adaptation both teach girls to go and chase their dreams and achieve their goals, be their true selves, and to not be afraid of trying new things as well.&nbsp;

To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. Your theme’s accent color is used in both quotes (see above) and separators (below). If you add an express map to your story, your drawn features will use the accent color too.

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
