Recently my colleagues and I from Regions TV (An Armenian media outlet, mainly focusing on issues outside of the capital city Yerevan) went on a four-day work trip around Armenia. We started in Gyumri and ended up in Goris, stopping at many interesting places along the way. In this article, I, a participant of the Birthright Armenia program from the UK, will recount my impressions of this amazing trip in the land of some of my ancestors. Before we left Gyumri early in the morning on the first day, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I knew that eventually we would be in Goris, but considering the enormous distance, I thought that we would probably spend the night at some place along the way. Ready for adventure, I decided to ask the boss where we were travelling to today. Although she replied clearly, she, of course, answered with some complicated Armenian town’s name that went straight over my head. Feeling totally lost and slightly embarrassed as a result, I just nodded my head and pretended to understand what she had just said. Since I did not get the name of the place, I could not even check it out on Google, see some photographs and form some kind of expectations of what was to come.

This story includes several of the pieces you might use in your own story–like paragraphs, buttons, separators, and more. To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. Quotes use the theme’s title font, but you can also choose one of several different styling options.

Your theme’s accent color is used in both quotes (see above) and separators (below). If you add an express map to your story, your drawn features will use the accent color too.

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
