The history of cabaret shows has a complex background of involving entertainment, politics, sociology and ideology all around the world. Cabarets were first popularized in 1881 by the foundation of Le Chat Noir owned by Rodolphe Salais in Montmartre, Paris. Before Le Chat Noir the most popular forms of nightlife involved taverns that were exclusively for drinking. Salais had the idea of creating an environment where both art and drinking could be celebrated. Cabaret originally had a vast amount of performances ranging from art shows, poetry readings, comedy shows, dance and music. It was a more laid back viewing experience where customers could meet, talk and enjoy the art being presented. Cabaret was also a place where classes could mix openly and where those who did not meet society&apos;s standards could meet and explore ideologies and philosophies that were taboo at the time. Cabaret soon became a meeting ground for discussions for social reform and advancements. As cabaret developed into the 20th century it entered an era where Parisians upheld the continuous ideal of glamor and luxury. Cabaret became more popularized and mainstream with performances soon becoming intertwined with newer forms of performances such as theater, drag and burlesque dancing. While it has <a href='https://www.paradislatin.com/en/history-of-parisian-cabarets/#:~:text=The%20history%20of%20Parisian%20cabarets%20evolved%20in%201881%2C%20when%20a,theater%2C%20songs%20and%20comic%20sketches.&lt;br&gt;' target='_blank' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>developed vastly since its invention the historical and social impacts cabaret has made globally still remain unrecognized by the general public and understated in the world of musical performance. </a>

After one year, you will need to purchase an ArcGIS Online subscription to continue using ArcGIS StoryMaps. Check out the StoryMaps <link>retirement page</link> for more information on the ArcGIS Online subscription options.

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
