It is estimated that upwards of 200 million people globally will be displaced from their homes and forced to relocate within their country&apos;s borders by 20501. Rising sea levels, coastal erosion, flooding, extreme weather, heat waves and drought are making some lands uninhabitable or simply too costly to live. In this context, many people will face the realities of relocation. Climate change displacement is something that many communities in Canada will face in the future. The people in the Arctic hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk already are experiencing the realities of relocation.  It is estimated that the entire townsite of Tuktoyaktuk will be uninhabitable by 2050 given the present rates of coastal erosion, sea level rise and permafrost thaw2. The long timelines and lack of political will behind most climate policies (such as making it to net zero by 2050) are far too little, too late for the communities on the frontlines of climate change displacement.

This story includes several of the pieces you might use in your own story–like paragraphs, buttons, separators, and more. To get started, select a section of the styling panel and make some adjustments. As you adjust different elements, you’ll see this story adjust to demonstrate how they look. Try changing the paragraph font, and see what happens to this text.

You can style your paragraph text to use bold, italics, and bold italics, so you can emphasize important text accordingly. These come pre-packaged with the fonts you’ve chosen, so there’s nothing extra you need to configure.

Quotes use the theme’s title font, but you can also choose one of several different styling options.

Your theme’s accent color is used in both quotes (see above) and separators (below). If you add an express map to your story, your drawn features will use the accent color too.
