World War II may have lasted six years, but in reality, it was a conflict that began decades earlier, with an &quot;end&quot; that left long-lasting consequences. When really put into perspective, one can see that World War I, or rather the consequences of this conflict is what got the ball rolling for World War II, and WWI predated WWII about two decades. As for the after, after WWII that is, there was so much clean up to be done, both literally and figuratively. This paper will explore how WWII got started, how it unfolded, and the events it triggered after the conflic ended. When talking about WWII and how it came to be, you first have to look at the end of WWI. World War I ended in 1918 and after it did, the Treaty of Versailles was signed on 1919. This treaty was signed with the intention of creating a lasting peace, as well as having Germany accept fault of WWI and agree to pay their dues (The Treaty). According to the same source, the cost of reparations plus the 200,000,000 gold marks that Germany had to pay left them in bad economic shape and the people of Germany were quick to let their government know their discontent. This worsened when the Great Depression began. The Great Depression was a worldwide economic crisis that began in 1929 and lasted throughout the 1930s, and is known for the huge margin of unemployment and poverty. At the height of the Great Depression almost 25% of the total work force were unemployed in the United States (Great Depression). This depression was extended to the rest of the world, in particular to Germany. On top of the debt Germany was in they also had a severe banking crisis which turned their recession into a full blown depression (Peydro). Since Jewish bankers were at the center of the depression in Germany in a sense, and the Nazi party&apos;s propaganda was all about placing the blame on the Jewish population for the state of the economy as well as saying that they would turn Germany back to the nation it once was, this all caused an already growing Nazi party to gain even more popularity (Peydro).

ArcGIS <link>StoryMaps</link> is the professional version of StoryMaps and is available as part of <link2>ArcGIS Online</link2>. Both products share similar storytelling capabilities, so if you are familiar with StoryMaps, you'll feel right at home with ArcGIS StoryMaps. If you do not migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you can save any content you would like to keep before the June 30, 2025, retirement date. The options for saving content include saving stories as a PDF and saving frames using a screen recording.

You are invited to migrate your account and content to ArcGIS Online where you can continue storytelling with maps. With ArcGIS Online, you’ll get access to ArcGIS StoryMaps and the easy-to-use story builder you are familiar with, plus so much more!

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
