Since 2014, the historic city of Mosul has suffered from massive destruction that targeted its tangible and intangible heritage. Rich in its exceptional archive, the historic houses were mainly damaged during the conflict. Many families had to flee or were unable to return. But, while UNESCO was working on recovering important historical sites such as Al Nouri Mosque, Al Saa Church, and Al Tahira church, UNESCO responded to the appeal and launched its landmark initiative to restore the historic houses of Mosul. Many families received the news of Revive The Spirit Of Mosul and the their hope for a new life and family happiness has appeared.The work began, and the families were involved the discussions on the future of their homes to help them contribute to the revival of their future.

If you migrate your account to ArcGIS Online, you will have access to your existing stories, collections, and themes via ArcGIS StoryMaps, as well as an array of additional ArcGIS capabilities. (Your frames will be migrated and accessible when support for frames is added to ArcGIS StoryMaps.)
